Matthewdavid's A Blue Tape

When I reviewed L.A. beat producer Matthewdavid’s Outmind, one of my issues with the release was that its best moments didn’t last very long. Some of the lightly etched drones and rhythms on that LP seem to peter out a little too quickly for me to grab hold of what’s really going on. Plus, the intentionally hazy production only makes that task more arduous.
Well, it seems that on this new tape of more beats, ambient interludes, and loose sketches, I get my wish. The tape is split up into two, uninterrupted listens that last 25 to 35 minutes.
