An energetic track from Eternal Summers’ 12” Prisoner EP via Forest Family Records.
On “Prisoner,” Eternal Summers displays a universal desire: Freedom. People protest, fight, and die for the freedom to seek out their own happiness; but after the dust has settled, our personal prisons have still got us on lockdown. Sometimes curiosity gets the best of us, and makes it impossible do to anything else but scratch that mental itch.
That’s what this song says to me, anyway.
The post-punk’d drums, female vocals, and romping drum beats aren’t bad, too.
