I give this thread a 3.3, but much like Pitchfork itself, will probably change it at some time to a 8.4 upon seeing the public's overwhelming positive response to it.
But I have zero desire to hear anything on his new album. Haven't even bothered to check the single, and I like most of the features. He kinda blew it for me since summer/fall 2k11.
I concur with errbody. I dloaded it, didnt even listen to the whole thing and just sort of skimmed through it...but it didnt interest me really. I'll probably give it a full listen when I have nothing better to listen to, but I kind of find him boring for whatever reason.
Lol I've been hearing a really mixed bag of opinions on the new A$AP Rocky release. I'm definitely gonna check it out, but I'm not really sure how to expect to feel.
I see Crystal Castles (III) made the disappointing list. That was my pick.
I finally bought Channel Orange ($3.99 on Amazon the other day, just in respect for Pyramids which I downloaded for free somewhere)... yeah other than it and Thinkin' Bout You, nothing else has stuck. Must be over my head.
Guys do you realize P4K's new brand of streaming technology will not only be fully-controllable, but it also will let you see the album's artwork and tracklist AT THE SAME TIME???
BNM for that new Blue Hawaii (side project of Raph Standall-Preston, the lead singer of Braids) track was a good job too. I'm excited to hear what that album and the new Braids album sound like. Hopefully P4k isn't just jumping on it because its their way of hyping "Purity Ring with a way better singer" for the new year... I'm expecting good things from Untogether (a Women reference?).
I like it a lot but the masterwork some people claim it to be is lost on me on some level. It's probably just because I refuse to believe any instrumental hip hop album deserves a score on par with ...Endtroducing.
I wouldn't personally rate Donuts a ten based on enjoyment (somewhere in the 9's for me) but that doesn't change the fact that the correct score for Donuts judging on innovation and cultural and historical relevancy as well as quality cannot be any less than a 10.
Pretty much exactly how I feel about it. P4k reviews relevancy, and they got that score right. Based strictly on enjoyment I'd personally give it a light 8.
I'm fine with giving it a 10 for all that stuff, but I usually just equate my score with my personal enjoyment as it is. The cool thing about not being pitchfork is that I can rate classic albums whatever the fuck I want.
Well I'd let you have some, but they don't really sell it outside of Western New York and Southern Ontario despite it being the most delicious fucking soft drink in the history of mankind.
