Recently, Icelandic folktronica outfit, múm, debuted a new 7″ single, “Toothwheels,” taken from its forthcoming album, Smilewound, out wordwide September 6th on Morr Music.

The song is accompanied by a skittering, dimly lit music video that perfectly complements the song’s cold, glitchy beat. In a press release, múm stated that Smilewound is composed of tracks that are “airy, relaxed,” and arranged around “simple melodies.” This is certainly true of this first single, particularly owing to Sigurlaug Gísladóttir’s lovely vocal performance.
