The song was a little boring and redundant. But, I agree about the Rodney King line.
Like a lot of people he seems way more critical of the fanbase than the actual music being made. OF launched on the backs of EARL and Bastard, both of which had seriously strong lyrics, EARL better than just about anything from the past decade. Fantano sounds like he just doesn’t want to get lumped in with annoying suburban kids who like the shock value, though then again that’s what Eminem’s audience started as but I don’t think anyone will say dude’s not a talented writer.
Yeah, but unlike Tyler, after a while Eminem wasn’t content to just wallow it. That being said, I don’t think that this review lived up to the standards Anthony has been setting for himself recently and that he was out of line for spending more time reviewing the fandom than he did the actual song. And I’m not even an OF or Tyler fan.
