Cattle Decapitation, Goatwhore and Deicide. That was a show I saw at BB King’s in Manhattan many moons ago. Goatwhore killed it that night and I saw the two worlds of metal collide on stage that night. I guess it was my first introduction to Blackened Death Metal, and it was definitely bombastic to say the least. In general I really respect a band that can deliver the goods in the studio but also translate the spirit from the album to the stage, which Goatwhore does effortlessly. I remember seeing Smashing Pumpkins at Randall’s Island, Lollapalooza I believe, and they were not able to make that translation at all. To say I was bummed out would be a colossal understatement. Oh well, rock and roll will always have its ups and downs I suppose. Either way, great review and I’m always appreciative of your honestly and clear articulation of ideas you bring forth to your viewers. Thanks Anthony.
