    7.Yuck, Yuck (7.5/10)
    8.James Blake, James Blake (6.5/10)

I couldn’t make it to a top ten list because there wasn’t enough good albums this year. Sure, there was a few strong ones (take for instance the top 4 of my list) but the rest were either slightly better than mediocre or just average. And I have no idea how you like James Blake, he’s pretty bad if you ask me.

    For now…

1.Thundercat – The Golden Age of Apocalypse.
    2.Destroyer – Kaputt.
    3.James Blake – James Blake.
    4.Battles – Gloss Drop.
    5.Zomby – Dedication.

2011 was a great year for music indeed.

  • Curran Ennis

Unknown Mortal Orchestra should be somewhere on this list

  • Simon

Very nice list, a lot of interesting picks. I’m kind of surprised by the complete absence of Clams Casino, as he was such an important part of the A$AP ROCKY album. He put two very strong releases out this year. You should look into his Rainforest EP.

And also, can we get a little mainstream music?
I mean, you can like as much hipster music, but there were great mainstream LP’s this year.
“Some Nights” by fun. is one of the most interesting LP’s by far this year (“Stars”, and “Carry On”)
And I know I’ll sound really stupid, but, “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga was an amazing LP. So risky, edgy, and out there. (“Scheisse” & “Bloody Mary”)
Finally, “Mylo Xyloto” by Coldplay. Transfers you to another world. (“Hurts Like Heaven” & “Major Minus”).
    Just saying.
