    Iroha- “Last Day Of Summer”

Iroha is a UK metal band that produces a heavy, blissful sound that is pretty comparable to Jesu’s. That shouldn’t be a surprise since the guy spearheading this project is Andy Swan. He’s said to have worked with Justin K. Broadrick in one of his previous bands, Final; plus, Iroha itself even features Jesu’s Diarmuid Dalton.

There are a lot of parallels, similarities, and connections here, no doubt. But Iroha’s self-titled debut is still worth checking out if you love your rock loud and hazy.

On “Last Day of Summer,” chords doom slowly and patiently against simple drums and relaxed vocals. This thing doesn’t pull any punches. It’s a calming ride into the fog.

Look for this album on Denovali.
