The latest single from Fucked Up’s David Comes to Life is both hard-hitting and thematic. The fierce punk energy that make this Canada band’s previous work so extreme remains intact as the band pulls together a track that begins the story that opens up this forthcoming concept album.

The lyricism is detailed and the melodies are triumphant, which make the rough vocals and high-volume distortion so easy to take in. It’s like a punk’d out version of sunshine. Bask in it.

Really, your voice is awesome. The synth noise is NOT necessary!! Maybe bongos though… bongos might help.

    I agree with bongo’s
and this track kind of reminds me of a dropkick murphy’s song

I have to say the reverse in that I’d love the album if was the girl singing the lyrics rather than the harsh vocals. High energy from the music=”yes, keep it going”, but the guys vocals are just off-putting for me as it actually diminishes my perceived enjoyment. Actual melody/music is so awesome that I still listen, but when the “primary vocals” hit, I have to go in ignore mode.
DKM vocals are harsh but I’d happily replace these with them.

I find that reading the lyrics while listening makes it more enjoyable as you can ussually only hear about 2/3rds of the words .
